When the captain tells you to go aboard then you must hurry and get on the boat immediately. But what is a boat? A boat is a smaller vehicle or craft which is regularly placed on a ship. A boat is definitely smaller and maybe less luxurious than a yacht. A yacht has always been identified with pleasure sailing.
Every decent boat has a cabin or a room where the boat crew or passengers can rest, sleep or even eat. Well, who said that boat passengers and crew can only eat in the galley or the boat kitchen? When a boat capsized, it means it has turned over in the water. When this happens to the boat you are in then you should be thankful for those basics lessons in swimming.
Boaters usually talk in their lingo and you can sometimes hear them measuring the water depth by fathoms. Fathom doesn't mean deciphering the depth of the water but it simply means six feet. So when they say 5 fathoms then it means 30 feet.
When boats are anchored at a certain place, it means they are stationed in a place where it is ideal for them in terms of the direction of the wind and the measurement of the bottom. When there are too many boats anchored in a small area, a fender is placed between the boats or between a boat and the pier to cushion the boat.
