Boating Packing Up Food For a Fun-filled Boating Activity
Boating is an adventure that could last for hours, or the whole day or night. There are many other things to do while boating, like swimming and fishing, among others. If you are planning a boating adventure this weekend, you've got to pack all your boating necessities and another important thing: food. You should never forget that boating can be very fun, but physically draining as well.
That is why you should pack only the best food for the activity. Else, you might either end up with a gurgling stomach enough to ruin an otherwise perfect outdoor fun. Here are tips and suggestions on which food you should pack for your boating trip.
1. Water. Because you are going to head for the waters, large quantities of potable drinking water should be brought along. The sun can be very drenching. Not enough refreshment and arduous boating chores don't go well with each other. You wouldn't want to head to the shore earlier than expected, because you don't have adequate water on the boat. Pack the water first. It is very important.
2. Energy snacks. Examples of these are granolas, sweets, and nuts. Get snacks that don't need refrigeration. Select the ones that are high in glucose for energy-boosting purposes. You are going to need a hefty jolt from time to time while manning the boat and threading the waters, so ready those snacks.
3. Energy drinks. What else complements energy snacks better than right-off-the-cooler energy drinks? The energy drinks that are especially made for tedious activities and active sports. Other than water, you needed those to keep your electrolytes at the maximum level, enough to get you through a long boating day.
4. Vegetables and Fruits. Health-wise, these are good choices over chips and processed foods. Just make sure that you are bringing along the freshest varieties of vegetables and fruits so they will last. Chips easily get old, and so do other packaged food. Settle on fruits and vegetables for a healthier, calorie-free day.
5. Sandwiches. Who would forget this picnic staple? Pack your favorite bread. Bring loads of fillings so that you will have lots to choose from and lots of combinations. Smoked ham, cheese, tomatoes, coleslaw, and turkey – these are but a few you can carry along.
With all these foods in tow, you'll surely have a long, enjoyable stay on the waters, aboard your equally wonderful boat!
